 The Crimson Rose - one of the Imperial City's best kept secrets, hidden deep within its bowels, far from the vigilant eye of the guards. The authorities deny it even exists. Even if some intrepid explorer were to find it, the entrance would be only a featureless door, locked tight against intruders. If one happened to know the correct passphrase however, the door would open and beyond it...a hedonist's paradise. Ran by a pair of Sanguine worshippers, this exclusive establishment caters to just about any taste and inclination; everything goes, provided that it's consensual and doesn't lead to serious injury or death. That would be bad for business, you see.

One of the Rose's most popular attraction is its skooma - the good stuff, not that swill peddled by raggedy Khajiit down by the docks. Not exactly a stranger to it, Lloras Sarano managed to persuade his then-girlfriend, an 18-year-old Katarina to join him for a taste. Her only taste, as it would turn out; even at that age, she realized the attraction was not worth the addiction, but for that one night at least she thoroughly enjoyed herself.  Not her wisest move, but who hasn't done a few things they aren't exactly proud of when they were young?
